What's In You?

Aug 10, 2020

I have always prided myself on being able to say “there’s nothing you can tell me about myself that I don’t already know. I may not acknowledge it, but I already know it.” To be self-aware means you have conscious knowledge of your own character, feelings, motives, and desires. Why is self-awareness important? There’s a Shakespearian quote that says (and I paraphrase)… “to thine own self be true then you can’t be false to any man." When you know yourself, you are powerful. When you know your own identity, no one can tell you who you are, what you feel, what you want because YOU already know.

I can honestly tell you I’ve never been happier and more fulfilled in my life since nine years ago when I discovered my true identity. The pressure I used to feel to perform so people would “see” all of the great work I do faded away with one big decision to “just do Christy”…to “just do me” and to just BE me.

Everything I have ever needed to succeed has been within me all along, just as it is in you. Your "tools" may look different than mine; and rightly so because no two people are the exact same. Each has their own unique qualities and values, determined by the amount of pressure applied, like a diamond.

Your key to success under pressure is in knowing that you are well able to withstand the pressure and using that pressure as momentum to propel you forward into something you would have never imagined.
